About 2048 Master

2048 Master is a numbers-based sliding puzzle where you merge matching tiles on a 4x4 grid. Every move slides all tiles as far as they can go in your chosen direction. When two tiles with the same number touch, they combine into one tile with double the value (two 2s become a 4, two 4s become an 8, and so on). A new 2 or 4 tile drops onto the board after every turn.

The challenge comes from managing the increasingly crowded board. Because every tile moves at once, you have to plan your swipes carefully so you don't trap your largest numbers or fill the grid with small, unmatchable tiles. The game ends when the board is full and no valid moves remain.

Controls

  • Keyboard: Use the Arrow Keys or W, A, S, D to slide tiles up, down, left, or right.
  • Touchscreen: Swipe in any of the four directions to move the tiles.

Tips

  • Pick a corner: The most reliable strategy is to choose one corner (like the bottom-right) and always keep your highest-value tile there.
  • Limit your directions: If your highest tile is in the bottom-right, only swipe Down, Right, and Left. Avoid swiping Up unless completely forced to, as it pulls your biggest tile out of its safe corner.
  • Build a chain: Try to keep your second-highest tile next to your highest tile, and your third-highest next to that, making it easier to merge them sequentially.
