Jelly Cat isn't a platformer, even though it looks like one at a glance. It's a line-drawing puzzle game from Gametornado, the studio behind Rio Rex and Short Life: you drag a single stroke from your jelly cat toward a plate of cookies, and the cat follows the exact path you sketched, bouncing over gaps and squeezing through narrow openings along the way.
The puzzle is in the shape of the line, not in reflexes. Any wobbly path that reaches the cookies will clear a level, but scoring three cookies instead of one means finding the shortest route that still threads every gap cleanly — which usually takes a couple of failed attempts before the efficient path is obvious.
Controls
Jelly Cat is played entirely with the mouse. Click and hold on the cat, drag to draw the path you want it to travel, then release to send it off. There's no keyboard involved.
Tips
- Draw for length, not just success. A line that technically reaches the cookies but loops or backtracks will still cost you your third cookie — redraw it tighter.
- Let the jelly do the squeezing. The cat's body stretches and compresses on its own, so you don't need to steer around every narrow gap — draw straight through it.
- Expect more than one solution. If a level feels stuck, try a completely different route rather than tweaking the same failing line.
It's a good fit for short breaks — most levels take under a minute, and chasing a clean three-cookie score on ones you've already "solved" gives it more replay value than a single playthrough suggests.
